F1 2027 Driver Lineup Confirmed Seats and Rumors

The F1 2027 driver lineup is almost complete. Formula 1 has now confirmed twenty of the twenty two seats. That leaves two seats still open, and the paddock is buzzing with hints, denials and rumors.

The single biggest storyline in this market just resolved itself. Max Verstappen has signed with Red Bull through 2030 and right after this news Mercedes announced that they are going with Kimi Antonelli and George Russell in 2027. Were they waiting for max or something?

The sport returns from its summer break at Zandvoort this weekend. Insiders expect a few blanks to fill in once racing resumes. Here is where the F1 2027 driver lineup stands right now. First, what F1 has confirmed. Second, what drivers have hinted at themselves. Third, what the rumor mill is saying.

VERSTAPPEN SIGNS WITH RED BULL UNTIL 2030

Red Bull announced the deal on Thursday, hours ahead of Verstappen’s home race at Zandvoort. The extension runs through 2030, a two year addition to his previous contract, which was due to expire in 2028.

Verstappen called the team a second family. He thanked team principal Laurent Mekies for the trust placed in him and said he wants to help get Red Bull back to winning races.

The deal ends months of speculation linking him to Mercedes and McLaren. It also closes the biggest open question hanging over the entire 2027 driver market.

WHAT FORMULA 1 HAS OFFICIALLY CONFIRMED FOR 2027

F1’s own social channels confirm only these seats for 2027.

McLaren have Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri under contract. That could still change if Verstappen ends up joining the team. Ferrari have locked in Charles Leclerc, who recently signed an extension that reportedly runs through 2030. Lewis Hamilton also holds a multi year deal at Ferrari. Williams have also confirmed Alex Albon and Carlos Sainz for 2027, completing their entire 2027 line-up this week. Mercedes have George Russell and Kimi Antonelli.

Cadillac have kept both Valtteri Bottas and Sergio Perez under contract for 2027. That holds even though Cadillac sit bottom of the constructors standings without a point through eleven rounds.

Alpine have locked in Pierre Gasly and Franco Colapinto. Red Bull have confirmed both seats for 2027: Verstappen through 2030, Hadjar on a new one-year extension. Audi have also retained both of their drivers, Gabriel Bortoleto and Nico HĂĽlkenberg, for the 2027 season. Aston Martin have also announced that their line-up stays the same for 2027, with Fernando Alonso and Lance Stroll.

Haas have confirmed Oliver Bearman and Rafael Camara for 2027, with Camara replacing Esteban Ocon. Racing Bulls is the only team still open.

WHAT IT MEANS FOR THE 2027 GRID

F1’s official count of twenty confirmed seats undersells how much the paddock already assumes. Ferrari and McLaren look fully settled now that Verstappen has ruled out a switch. Red Bull’s 2027 line-up is now fully settled, with Hadjar extending alongside Verstappen’s deal through 2030. Following Red bull announcement Mercedes doors is also closed.

Williams have now completed their entire 2027 line-up, joining Red Bull and several other teams in locking down both seats. Cadillac’s pairing looks locked in on paper.Audi will continue with the same driver pairing in 2027, with Gabriel Bortoleto and Nico HĂĽlkenberg staying on.

The market’s last open question now sits at Racing Bulls, where Lawson’s future is still unclear. Until then, the F1 2027 driver lineup stays a waiting game
